We use and recommend Booking.com for booking hotels, hostels and other accommodation. We trust it because all the reviews are from people who have actually stayed at the place in question. Search for accommodation in Sri Lanka using the box below.
Recommended Accommodation in Sri Lanka
We always use Booking.com for accommodation and recommend anything that scores 8 or above which is classed as ‘Very Good’ using their review system. Unlike other websites, Booking.com only displays reviews from guests who have stayed at the property – meaning the listing only features real experiences from real guests. The more reviews a listing has, the more likely it will have a score that accurately reflects it. Many listings also include free cancellation, meaning you won’t pay a cancellation fee if your plans change.
The below are some suggestions for accommodation in Sri Lanka. Always take the time to read reviews carefully to make sure you get exactly what you want from your booking.
Camping in National Parks
For Yala National Park we recommend Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris campsite. It’s a 40-minute drive from the Yala National Park entrance. Accommodation ranges from spacious canvas tents – each with a jungle-view living area and private toilet and shower – to a luxury lodge tent complete with a four-poster bed and outdoor dining deck.
For Udawalawe National Park we recommend Ruhunu Safari Camping deep inside the park. The riverside location offered a back-to-nature charm coupled with modern amenities including a private shower and toilet, twin beds, in-tent lighting and traditional Sri Lankan food made with tasty local ingredients.
