Nothing quite prepares you for seeing one of these magnificent mammals for the first time.  We went looking for them on the last day of the whale watching season in Tonga and so had no real expectations – only hopes. By the end of the day, we were lucky enough to have been in the water swimming with whales on several occasions, each time gaining more intimate and breathtaking views.
