Salar de Uyuni Salt Flats: the largest mirror on Earth

The Salar de Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia are otherworldly to say the least. In fact, at times they feel downright alien.

We spent the day touring the vast white desert – the world’s largest salt flats at 10,582 square kilometres (4,086 sq miles) – before arriving at the “largest mirror on Earth”.

Here, a thin layer of water covers the landscape, transforming the surface into a giant mirror.
