To make the most of the country’s diverse landscape, the best time to visit Bolivia is during the shoulder season (Oct-Nov). This offers value for money and the best weather, particularly if visiting Salar de Uyuni. The High Season (May-Oct) has mostly sunny days throughout Bolivia but cooler in the altiplano. This means more reliable transport and better climbing, trekking and mountain biking conditions.
Be prepared for festival crowds in August and higher prices throughout the country. The summer and low season (Nov-Apr) is also the rainy season and the worst time to visit. It can be miserable in the lowlands, transport becomes difficult and climbing, trekking and cycling can be tedious or downright dangerous.
