The best time to visit Easter Island is during one of the shoulder seasons – April to June or October to December – as the climate is temperate and prices more affordable.
Easter Island has a warm tropical climate throughout the year but there are also cooling ocean breezes which help to keep the climate comfortable. However, if you’re visiting in the summer (December to February) temperatures can soar above 27°C (81°F).
January to March is peak season, meaning higher prices and more visitors. In February there is the Tapati Rapa Nui festival which also draws the crowds. July to August can be a bit cooler with average temperatures of 22°C (72°F), although brisk winds can often make it feel even cooler.
